A leading force in the Swedish "sleaze rock" scene of the 2000s — a revival of the glam metal (or hair metal) of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element, often rawer in sound and raunchier in style — CRASHDÏET formed in 2000, taking inspiration from Skid Row, Guns N' Roses, Kiss, W.A.S.P., and G.G. Allin, and vowing to bring back the big shows and big songs of "unpredictable and dangerous" rock & roll.
In April of 2010 they will release their third album entitled "Generation Wild", a masterpiece that pretty much sums up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream.
CRASHDÏET has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and although its their third time around with a new singer (Simon Cruz), the massive interest for the band never seems to fade.

"Raw, hyper-commercial heavy metal songsmix knuckleduster brutality with the spiteful caress of pointy painted fingernails. The comparisions might be facile but we're gonna make 'em anyway: this is Runaways crossed with Motörhead; Cherie Currie cavorting with Lemmy Kilmister; Joan Jett jiving with 'Fast' Eddie... and we can't even begin to tell you what Jackie Fox is up to. Snakeskyn Whiskey

Snakeskyn Whiskey came to life in 2009, after lead singer Matt Dibi and bassist Jordan Dibi had just put an end to their old band “Bad Blood”.This band was going nowhere for years because of certain members,so Matt thought that it was time for a change, meaning a new band and a new name. After bieng a 3 piece band for a couple of years,Matt and Jordan had decided that maybe bieng a 4 piece band would add that extra heavyness that the band needed, and would also permit Matt to give up playing lead guitar and concentrate more on his vocals. This is where the torch was passed on to Justyn Vynn.
A couple of days after Bad Blood was no more,Matt contacted Justyn right away.Justyn had been contacted about 3 weeks before when Bad Blood was maybe considering a 4th member, but was not given a shot due to one member thinking he was not good enough.Matt and Jordan had seen potential from the song they had heard Justyn playing in and decided to give him a chance. He also had the perfect line in his ad that these 2 brothers had been looking for,it read “lead guitarist willing to do anything to make it”.This was his ticket into this new band.Althought Justyn had played in many other bands including “Cherish Your Blessing”,nothing seemed to be working for him either.Matt had set up a jam at his house with Justyn the next day, which is also where the song “In The Night” was brought out. Matt liked the riff and he knew he had made the right choice to keep Justyn. Things moved quickly from here. Now that there were 3 serious members, they all thought that getting that 4th member would be a lot easier if they had a band name.
Matt had the name “Snakeskin Sin” that he had been thinking about, and one of the first names Justyn had ever mentioned was “whiskey Saints”,but the name had already been taken, but they had the general picture of what kind of name they wanted. They had then made a list of about 40 band names and narrowed it down to about 3 names, and the one that stood out the most was “Whiskey Snakes”.It was good but it wasn’t good enough,it didn’t describe the feel for this band they were creating. So ,looking at the names they had,Matt had thought of a good idea to combine Snakeskin Sin with Whiskey Snakes, and the first thing that came out was “Snakeskyn Whiskey and they knew from there that they now had their name.
The search for the 4th member was not an easy task, but they were determined to find a real great drummer. The first drummer was an old band member that Matt had called up to see if he wanted to play a while with them,he agreed and they played the first show oct.10,2009 at Shooters bar to try things out. After playing a great show there,it was on to bigger things like battle of the bands to compete against other great montreal bands. They had come in first place at Le National in the first round, but it also came with a price to pay.The drummer had left the band the day after the show, thinking that this band didn’t have what it took to go anywhere, even though they had won first place. The remaining members didn’t look back, instead they started a new search for another drummer, because they knew the final round was in 3 months, and they really wanted to play this final round at Club Soda. After a couple of weeks of bieng unable to find somebody, they decided to call up drummer Kevin Moroney, which was a drummer for Matt’s cousin band.Kevin had been at the previous show at le National and really loved it,so he was excited to join the band as a temporary drummer. He also did the band a great favour for filling in,but the band knew that they would still have to find somebody else once everything settled. After great success at the Club Soda show,Kevin was asked to stick aorund a while longer since the offers to play gigs kept coming in.The band was booked for summer festivals and bar shows. The band still kept their eyes open for drummers, but after 2-3 auditions, they still had no luck. They had tried another drummer out afterwards for a show in Ottawa, but it was not working out so they decided to end things with this drummer. With Kevin returning to school for recording engineering, the band really had their backs up against the wall and needed to find that 4th member. It was now spetember 2010,and shows that they had booked were nearing and their new demo had just been released and they wanted to promote it by playing some big shows.
Finally a bit of luck came their way. They had gotten a response to their ad they had posted on the internet. It was a response from drummer Tommy Tarantilis. He had just stopped playing with his band called “Insanity” and was looking to get into something serious.Tommy had contacted the band months ago before that, but they were unable to meet up because Tommy had returned to his hometown in Greece for a month to take care of some things,so was unable to commit to practicing and gigging with them. When Tommy had come back,he had seen the same post about a month later and thought maybe he should contact t he band again since they were still looking. He did,and Snakeskyn Whiskey had it’s first jam with a new drummer a week later. The first jam went great and the band decided to keep Tommy, and he is now the 4th permanent member of Snakeskyn Whiskey, and they could not have asked for a more perfect match to add to this band.
